Each year, food frenzy hits the Cayman Islands and brings with it an array of food, wine, world famous chefs and locally sourced ingredients.
The Cayman Cookout is an annual four-day celebration of food and wine running from 12-15 January 2017. Originally created back in 2008 by Eric Ripert, signature chef at Blue restaurant, the event is now hosted at the Ritz-Carlton hotel.
This beautiful beachfront event hosts a roster of world famous chefs for dinners, live demonstrations, talks and more. Where barefoot barbecues allow you to venture along the sand and sample different chefs’ masterpieces, as well as other foods and ingredients from across the island.
The event also covers the sustainability of the produce and the best way to season your food but the main attraction, for any true foodie, is the on-going taste testing. After all what’s better than eating phenomenal tasting food in beautiful surroundings?
With ornate ice sculptures, beach bashes, high quality wine and even better company, the Cayman Cookout is a must if you visit the island in January.
Rounding off a foodie month will be Taste of Cayman, taking place on January 28, 2017. Participating restaurants and bars offer attendees a diverse selection of food and drink, infusing traditional Caymanian flavours with international flair.
If you can’t join us this January, we hope to see you for 2018’s events.
