Also known as Smith’s Barcadere, Smith’s Cove is located just off the South Sound in Grand Cayman. It is one of the most photographed places on the island thanks to crystal clear waters and brilliant white, unspoilt sand.
It’s the perfect place for novice snorkellers and families as, not only is the beautiful water teeming with marine life (it’s not uncommon to see octopuses!), but the protection of the cove by low-rise limestone rocks means calm, safe conditions for swimming.
Older children and adults can practise their snorkelling skills while younger ones can watch the darting shoals of fish close to the water’s edge. It is also a fabulous place to watch the sunset and might just be the prettiest place in Grand Cayman.
