A celebration of the world’s biggest cocktail festival, London Cocktail Week ran from 2nd to 8th October 2017.
Organised on behalf of DrinkUp.London and the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism, the Hoxton Hotel hosted a special preview on 20th September where London’s top cocktail bars battled it out in an attempt to create London Cocktail Week’s best cocktail. A place in the the ‘Taste of Cayman’ mixology final was up for grabs, taking place in Grand Cayman in January 2018.
Six finalists were selected from 157 of London’s top bars, with The Wigmore’s beer and espresso-inspired ‘Blended Union’ cocktail clinching the title on the night. Mixologist Steve Georgiou will be flying to the Cayman Islands at the end of January to compete on behalf of the rest of London, the first time a UK bar has ever entered the final. We wish him the best of luck with the rest of the competition!
