Grand Cayman is home to many beautiful bird species both residents and visitors. Among over 200 species of birds that can be seen are the Cayman parrot, West Indian whistling duck, La Sagra’s flycatcher, West Indian woodpecker, vitelline warbler (endemic to the Cayman Islands), stripe-headed tanager and Cuban bullfinch to mention but a few.
Mid to late October, into November is the migratory season where you can see more varieties. This is when the greatest volume of species pass through the Cayman Islands. Many are from the Eastern Flyway of the North American migration routes.
